Things to do in Los Angeles - Venice Beach

Venice Beach belongs to more famous districts of western Los Angeles known for its sandy  beaches and tremendous boardwalk atmosphere. It has gained world   popularity thanks to the television coverage of the 1984 Summer Olympics which pictured this region as thriving with  all kinds of appealing amusement activities provided by   street performers, vendors, artists, musicians, body builders, palm readers. From that time Venice Beach has become a desired destination for travelers and one of the most vibrant and eclectic areas of Southern California.   The free spirit of the place and open attitudes of artists make Venice  an ideal setting for their creativity. For this reason you can find so many galleries,  studios  and mural painting within the region. Artists from all over the world migrate to Venice to develop the craft and present their art.  One of the  top rock bands of their time, the Doors also started here and Jim Morrison actually lived in one of the houses here. Every year Venice proudly hosts the famous Venice Art Walk where  masses of visitors   come to Venice to tour through the artists’  studios and homes. You can really get the feel of the freedom, creativity and enthusiasm  deriving from this beach community. It is not only the festival that makes people flock here. They come all year round in order to walk through the numerous bizarre  scenes that atract them and make Venice truly unique. Due to its beautiful location, Venice Beach is one of the most attractive sites to see but also enjoys extensive popularity among the local community and is often used for bicycling or walking. The place is comparable to a carnival lasting  all year round with no admittance fee.
